Sirromet in Full Swing
Construction has completed on the state’s first Supa Golf course at Queensland’s largest winery, Sirromet. Now, open for play, the site includes a nine hole course spread over 80,000 square metres at picturesque Mount Cotton, just a short drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Supa Golf is a modified form of golf with oversized clubs and larger golf balls, designed to be easier to play than the traditional game. Suitable for the whole family, including children as young as six, the course will have a walking distance of approximately 100 metres between holes, allowing players to complete nine holes in less than one hour. Sirromet Owner, Terry Morris, said the partnership with Supa Golf Australia is a first for Queensland and will allow the winery to add to its already extensive offering. “Sirromet currently boasts state of the art facilities for food and wine lovers and we’re looking forward to extending our offering with an unique approach to what is arguably one of the most loved sports in the world,” Mr Morris said. "We have set our sights on creating an outstanding Supa Golf course which will be fun and accessible for people of all ages. As Queensland’s number one winery we are always looking for new and innovative ways to lead the way. We expect our Supa Golf course to widen our appeal as it is ideal for families and a first for Queensland.” Pricing will range from $18 per adult to $13 per child (up to age 12), with loyalty cards available for regulars. Sirromet currently attracts more than 300,000 visitors annually and expects the new course to draw even more visitors to the region. The Supa Golf course is going to be a great asset not just for Sirromet, but also for Queensland tourism as a whole,” Mr Morris said. Supa-Golf-Brochure
